The Intensive Child & Family Worker exists to keep families together. It supports the family’s role as caregiver by supporting the family members emotionally throughout the treatment process, assisting the family in addressing crises, and helping the family understand the treatment needs of the identified child or children.

An HBSW is preferred. A minimum two year Human Services Diploma is required. A minimum of two years direct service and counseling with children, adolescents and families; a combination of training and experience in working with Anishinabek children, families and communities; significant experience in family intervention and/or group facilitation. Candidates without the specific education qualifications and where the position does not require certified qualification to practice, but who possess an appropriate combination of experience and other academic qualifications will also be considered.
A satisfactory Criminal Records Search; a valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate is recommended; work flexible hours, according to the needs of families; completing and maintaining other relevant Ministry initiatives; travel within the city and district of Thunder Bay – provide coverage and services to the other Dilico affiliated First Nations when necessary work in the homes and locations familiar to client families; posses a valid Class “G” Driver’s License, and have access to a personal vehicle; carry satisfactory $1 million liability insurance; produce a satisfactory driver’s record.
