The School Outreach Instructor coordinates with our team to deliver Water Science education programs for Indigenous students. By facilitating hands-on workshops, outdoor learning, and project-based activities, the role fosters engagement and interest in water science for Indigenous learners from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Programs are developed and delivered in collaboration with Indigenous community partners to ensure locally relevant learning.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
? Deliver in-person, week-long and multi-week water science programs in Indigenous communities across Canada
? Coordinate outreach with educators, community partners, and external groups to support water science programs
? Collaborate with internal teams to support program development and continuous improvement
? Represent the organization in public engagements and support communications initiatives
? Maintain program materials and inventory
? Commit to ongoing learning of Indigenous histories and ways of being to support respectful work practices
Qualifi cations:
? Experience in education, environmental studies, science, or a related fi eld with post-secondary or equivalent experience
? Valid Class G driver’s license
? Willingness to travel to Indigenous communities for week-long programming
? Current Standard First Aid Certifi cate
Assets:
? Bachelor of Education and/or teaching certifi cation
? Experience in outdoor, classroom, or science-based education
? Background in environmental or Indigenous studies, science, or related fi elds
? Experience working with Indigenous communities
? Bilingual (French/English) or knowledge of Indigenous languages
Skills:
? Experience delivering educational programs
? Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills
? Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
? Highly organized with strong time management and problem-solving skills
? Experience working with children and youth (K-12)
? Profi ciency with Google Suite, virtual meeting tools, and basic project management
? Adaptable, self-motivated, and committed to ongoing learning
? Passion for environmental education and community engagement
Please Note:
? This is an on-call, part-time contract from September 14th, 2026 to August 28th, 2027. The hours will vary depending on the number of community outreach opportunities that are available.
