The Regional Energy Champion (REC) will serve as the central capacity-building resource for participating First Nations. The REC provides training, mentorship, coordination, and technical support to Community Energy Champions (CECs), while strengthening regional collaboration, knowledge sharing, and long-term energy readiness, with a particular focus on energy efficiency.
The Regional Energy Champion reduces administrative burden on communities, increases access to energy-efficiency programs and incentives, and supports First Nation-led energy planning and implementation across the region. The REC acts as trainer, mentor, and regional hub for CECs, ensuring consistent support and collaborative problem-solving.
