Position Overview:
Intensive Child & Family Worker exists to keep families together. It supports the family’s role as caregiver by supporting the family members emotionally throughout the treatment process, assisting the family in addressing crises, and helping the family understand the treatment needs of the identified child or children. The service helps the family maintain or improve its ability to preserve itself as a healthy and effective system by engaging the primary caregivers, the siblings and any extended family or community members who have a vested interest in the family. The service is provided mostly in the family home and in the community.
Salary Range:$26.48 To $33.54 Hourly
Hours of Work: 32.5 weekly

- A minimum two-year Human Services Diploma is required. HBSW is preferred
- Experience working with the Child & Adolescent Needs & Strengths (CANS) and Client Information Management System (CIMS) would be considered an asset
- Three or more years of direct service and counselling with parents and children, particularly Anishinabek clients, is required.
- Experience in working with Anishinabek children, families and communities.
- Significant demonstrated experience in family intervention and / or group facilitation is required.
- Training in Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) and Circle of Security (COS) is preferred.
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Search, including Vulnerable Sector Search.
- A valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate is recommended.
- Work flexible hours, according to the needs of families.
- Travel within the city and district of Thunder Bay – provide coverage and services to the other Dilico affiliated First Nations when necessary.
- Work in the homes and locations familiar to client families.
- Possess a valid Class “G” Driver’s License, have access to a personal vehicle, carry satisfactory liability insurance and produce a satisfactory driver’s record.
