Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Support Services (or designate), the Alternative Care Manager is responsible for managing the delivery of Alternative Care services in the City of Thunder Bay and surrounding areas. The Alternative Care Manager is responsible for providing direction and supervision to assigned staff to ensure the consistency of standards so that services and related programs express the policies and procedures of Dilico and are within the legal framework of the Child and Family Services Act. The Alternative Care Manager in conjunction with Senior Management and other program Managers, will be responsible to ensure the implementation of integrated service delivery from the point of intake to discharge for all children, youth and families receiving services from Dilico.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education with a combination of work-related experience in Child Welfare.
  • Two or more years' experience in Child Welfare
  • Direct service experience with Anishinabek children and families.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Assistant Director of Support Services in relation to service requirements.

  • Must possess a Class “G” Driver’s License and must have access to a reliable, personal vehicle.

  • A Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector check is required upon hiring.
