Provide programming at our Thunder Bay location during weekdays and occasional weekends.

Ensure a culturally safe, trauma-informed approach that is responsive to the diverse communities of our Indigenous youth between the ages of 12 - 29 years.

Interact with youth to encourage their involvement in activities and provide engaging quality care.

Plan, implement, and evaluate youth-centered recreation, fitness, and wellness programs (sports leagues, fitness classes, art therapy sessions, mindfulness activities, etc.)

Coordinate special events such as mini-tournaments, wellness fairs, community walks/runs, or seasonal recreation activities.

Facilitate workshops on health, nutrition, emotional wellness, and personal development topics.

Setup and take-down of the programming space.

Collaborate with the Thunder Bay youth council in designing and implementing programs on a monthly basis. Prepare calendars and posters, and promote the programming as recommended by them.

Post updates on our social media channels and respond regularly to participants.

Process honorarium registration forms for facilitators and youth participants, and submit expense forms for all program-related costs.

Ensure all youth accessing ENAGB register for the program.

Provide support with outreach activities and events at our location and off-site.

Work with the team to form a positive and supportive environment.

Entry of notes into our data-based system.

Ensure confidentiality of privileged information.

Adhere to the policies and procedures of the ENAGB Youth Program.

Other related duties as they relate to this position.

Child & Youth Worker and/or relevant experience.
-
Over two years of experience working with youth between 12 and 29 years.

Must have extensive knowledge of the Indigenous community (Inuit, Metis or First Nation).

Fluency in an Indigenous language and knowledge of Indigenous cultures is an asset.

Able to work evenings and occasional weekends.
-
Adequate energy and ability to meet the physical demands of the job.

A valid Standard First Aid and CPR.

A valid G License
-
A cleared Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
-
A positive, fun-loving attitude.
-
The ability to work as a team and be self-motivated.
