About the Role
Animbiigoo Zaagi'igan Anishinaabek (AZA) is seeking a dedicated and organized Intake Worker to serve as the central access point for Band Members and external organizations seeking programs, services, or support.
This role ensures that members are connected to the appropriate services in a timely, respectful, and supportive manner. The Intake Worker also assists members in understanding available programs, funding opportunities, and application processes while maintaining confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.

Key Responsibilities
Intake & Service Coordination
- Receive and document requests from Band Members (in person, phone, email, written)
- Respond to inquiries from external agencies and partner organizations
- Assess needs and refer to appropriate programs or staff
- Coordinate with program staff to ensure timely follow-up
- Track requests to ensure completion and accountability
- Maintain organized intake records and systems
Member Support & Application Guidance
- Provide clear information on programs, funding, and eligibility
- Assist members with completing applications and gathering documentation
- Explain processes, timelines, and next steps
- Support members respectfully using a trauma-informed approach
- Help identify alternative resources when needed
Liaison & Communication
- Act as a liaison between members and departments
- Ensure internal communication regarding member requests
- Follow up with members on the status of requests
- Coordinate with external service providers as required
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain confidential and secure records
- Ensure accurate documentation of all interactions
- Prepare reports as requested
- Identify service gaps or trends and report accordingly
Service Improvement & Administrative Support
- Participate in team meetings and planning
- Assist with communication to members regarding programs and updates
- Support general administrative functions
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Social Services, or a related field
- Equivalent experience may be considered
Experience
- Experience in administration, community services, or client support is an asset

Working Conditions
- Office-based position at the AZA Band Office
- Occasional overtime during peak periods
- Occasional travel for meetings or community events
