TALKING TOGETHER PROGRAM ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK

(External Posting – Contract Ending March 31, 2026)

Thunder Bay, ON

The Administrative Clerk provides clerical and administrative support to the Talking Together Program, My Journey Back Home and Mang-Otawin for all administrative duties undertaken by NALSC. At times, the Assistant may be required to assist other departments of the corporation or take on additional duties where the Corporation assumes additional projects.

Qualifications:
• Completion of Post-Secondary Education
• Some experience as an administrative assistant in a professional office setting such as a law office, political organization, or the public sector.
• Understands need for confidentiality
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Satisfactory written and oral communications skills including computer skills
• Ability to speak the Oji Cree language preferred
• Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and ability to use Data Bases), and superior typing
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Professionalism and discretion
• Strong organizational abilities are required.

Location: Thunder Bay, ON
Hours: Full-Time Contract (35 Hours Per Week)
Starting Salary: $40,040 Annually

FINANCE OFFICER

Thunder Bay, ON

The Finance Officer is responsible for processing Accounts Payables, Employee Payables and related third party payables, in addition to collecting, verifying, maintaining and processing accurate bi-weekly payrolls and remittances. The Finance Officer will also distribute payment statements and respond to employee questions regarding taxes, deductions and employee benefits. To ensure all financial data is captured and filed according to the NALSC policy and procedures.

Qualifications:
• Knowledge of accounting and payroll procedures
• Familiarity with Labour Legislations
• Advance mathematical skills and a strong attention to detail
• Excellent administrative, interpersonal, communication, word processing, and file management skills
• Ability to process payments and resolve payroll issues in a timely manner
• Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll/account system
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise with extreme discretion
• Strong understanding of program processes and formats – work plans, budgets, quarterly reports, year- end reports, all financial forms, etc.
• Experience with electronic and manual filing systems
• Experience with Data entry with accounting programs or databases
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint required
• The ability to speak Cree, Ojibway, or Oji-Cree would be an asset

Benefits:
• 6% pension matching

Location: Thunder Bay, ON (Fort William First Nation – Head Office)

Hours: Full Time (35 Hours Per Week)

Starting Salary: $69,662 Annually
