Under the supervision of Director of Operations, the Band Representative liaises with all Biinjitiwaabik Zaaging Anishinaabek (BZA) band membership children and families, regardless of location, who involved with Children’s Aid Societies or at risk of being involved with Children’s Aid Societies. The Band Representative will support families who are before the courts; while ensuring that culture, traditions, Indigenous identity and rights of BZA children are protected and preserved by all parties involved in child welfare matters.

Under the supervision of the Band Representative manager, the Intervention and Prevention Support Worker will liaise with all Biinjitiwaabik Zaaging Anishinaabek (BZA) band membership children and families, regardless of location, who involved with Children’s Aid Societies or at risk of being involved with Children’s Aid Societies.
The Intervention and Prevention Support Worker will provide culturally grounded support to individuals and families within the community, focusing on early intervention, prevention, and advocacy. Working within the Band Representative Department, this role assists in identifying needs, connecting members to appropriate services, and supporting positive outcomes through education, guidance, and case coordination. The worker collaborates with leadership, service providers, and community programs to address social, emotional, and family-related challenges while promoting wellness, safety, and self-sufficiency. This position also supports prevention initiatives by delivering community outreach, workshops, and resources aimed at strengthening families and reducing risk factors.
