The Group Home is a residential group home setting for boys and girls who have been experiencing difficulties with life at home and are in need of care and structured living which the group home is able to provide. The Residential Counsellor is to provide the support and care of these clients as well as their safety, health and well-being. It will be their responsibility to promote the best interest of the child and to provide for their protection. The Residential Counsellor reports to the Direct Services Supervisor.

The Residential Care Worker is under the direct supervision of and reports to the DSS-Residential. The Residential Care Worker’s main responsibilities are to maintain our foster homes through visitations on a regular basis and respond to referrals for opening Provisional and Foster Homes. The worker submits reports, assessments, and documentation on a timely basis to substantiate these visits and is responsible for the case management of foster care files. The Residential Care Worker provides crisis intervention and support services to foster parents. In addition, the worker will, in partnership with the Legal Services Worker, focus on Band Representative cases where families/children are involved with other Child and Family agencies outside of our jurisdiction.
Reporting to the Direct Service Supervisor, the Office Clerk is responsible for providing professional secretarial services, frontline systems, data input and filing services. As per the direction from Tikinagan's Board of Directors and by Chiefs resolutions, and in order to work in the true spirit of Tikinagan Mamow Obiki-ahwahsoowin Service Model, Tikinagan has been moving services and staff positions to the community level. Hiring staff based in the First Nations served by Tikinagan is part of our decentralization efforts.
