SENIOR GREENHOUSE WORKER

Under the direction of a supervisor, the successful applicants will be responsible for working with the Lands and Economic Development departments and consultants to learn key knowledge and skills to assist with design, construction and maintenance of a community greenhouse. The successful applicant will spend time working with and learning from the owners of Flying Geese Farm in order to gain the knowledge and skills required to design a self-sustaining MFN community greenhouse that will provide fresh produce to MFN members year-round. This successful applicant will be responsible for reporting weekly work to the Lands and Economic Development Department. Successful applicants will follow all health and safety procedures and ensure work and instructions are taken seriously and respected.

Qualifications:
 
This initiative employs 2 post-secondary students
Must be either First Nations or Inuit
Must be currently enrolled in school in 2019-2020 school year
Ability to give direction and instructions
Ability to follow direction and instructions
Ability to work in a safe, responsible manner
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Must have access to transportation to and from Michipicoten First Nation 
Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid Ontario Driver's License would be an asset
